Bulls, Broncs and Community: Bulls on the Lake Returns to Pell City
Professional rodeo excitement, youth competition and community support came together in Pell City.
The sights and sounds of rodeo returned to Pell City as Bulls on the Lake took over the Pell City Sports Complex on Friday and Saturday, July 17–18, 2026.
The two-day event brought together youth competition, professional rodeo action and families from across East Alabama. Gates opened at 5 p.m. both evenings at the complex on Stemley Bridge Road.
Eight Seconds of East Alabama Excitement
Saturday evening’s sanctioned Bulls & Broncs on the Lake competition included bareback, bull riding and saddle bronc events, where eight seconds can separate a winning ride from a quick trip to the arena dirt.
Friday’s youth-focused competition gave younger cowboys and cowgirls an opportunity to take part in the tradition, making the weekend more than a professional sporting event. It was a family gathering built around agriculture, competition and community pride.
Supporting Pell City FFA
Bulls on the Lake was organized through the Pell City FFA Alumni, and proceeds supported the local Pell City FFA Chapter. That support helps students participate in agricultural education, competitions and leadership opportunities throughout the school year.
The FFA connection gave the rodeo a purpose beyond entertainment. Every ticket purchased, sponsor involved and family attending helped strengthen opportunities for local students while continuing a popular Pell City tradition.
A Boost for the Local Community
Events like Bulls on the Lake bring visitors into Pell City, creating more activity for nearby restaurants, shops and local businesses while keeping support close to home.
